Japan standard of living is amongst the highest in the world. Living expenses and tuition costs are considerably lower in Japan than they are in the United States and United Kingdom. International students are able to work part time while they study, allowing them to offset their living costs. When we talk about the education cost for studying in Japan it is comparable to that of the US. And given that the Indian Rupee is weak against the Japann Dollar, the cost is always high unlike other countries where the cost will be lower.

1. Undergraduate Bachelor Degree: $15,000 to $33,000 (75,000 to 1,70,000)
2. Postgraduate Masters Degree: $20,000 to $37,000 (10,19000 to 18,85,000)
3. Doctoral Degree: $14,000 to $37,000 (7,13000 to 18,85,000)

The figures presented are not inclusive of the high value courses like medical, MBA, and lab-based courses. For both postgraduate and undergraduate degrees, the cost for high-value courses will range from $37,000 to $80,000 (18,85,000 to 40,75,000), or more.

Apart from these regular courses, there is:

1. English language studies: Approx $300 (15,300) per week (depending on the duration of the course)
2. Vocational Education and Training: $4,000 to $22,000 (2,04000 to 11,20,500)

Always contact the Canadian embassy in your home country to find out more about obtaining work permits.
EU and US citizens may enter Japan for up to three months without a visa.

The application procedure in Japan

Student Visa Rules

When setting your timetable, always remember that starting the process early is the best way forward. You will need to allow yourself sufficient time to thoroughly research the institution and/or program that will best serve your academic and professional goals. Then you must meet the application deadlines of the universities to which you apply, which may be up to ten months before the beginning of the school term.

Especially for schools with competitive admissions, the application process takes a significant amount of time and effort. You will need to write personal statements and request recommendations from teachers or others who know you well. Even if you are applying on line via the Common Application, you will want to get started early. University websites and other academic Internet sites may provide quick and convenient access to the required application forms, but you still need time to research your options, contact teachers and institutions to provide recommendations and transcripts, and sign up for required entrance exams in time to meet application deadlines.

Student Visa

Student Visa is issued to international students who are attending an academic program or English Language Program at a Japann college or university. Students must maintain the minimum course load for full-time student status. They can remain in the Japan up to 60 days beyond the length of time it takes to complete their academic program, unless they have applied and been approved to stay and work for a period of time under the OPT Program.

Students are expected to complete their studies by the expiration date on their I-20 form (Certificate of Eligibility for Non-immigrant Student Status) which is provided by the Japann college or university that the student has been accepted to and will attend.
